The Outstanding Young Persons Award
NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN - DEADLINE 8 MAY 2008!!
JCI Edinburgh are hosting these awards and are looking for nominations of young people (18-40) who have excelled in their field.
Previous international winners include: Evelyn Glennie, Stelios and Jackie Chan!
Previous Scottish winners include: Chris Hoy (cyclist), Craig Mathieson (polar explorer), Michelle Mone (entrepreneur)
You may personally know someone, or have read a news article about a young person that has blown you away! Either way - we want your nominations!
There are ten different categories, listed below:
1. Business, economic, and/or entrepreneurial accomplishment
2. Political, legal, and/or governmental affairs
3. Academic leadership and/or accomplishment
4. Cultural achievement
5. Moral and/or environmental leadership
6. Contribution to children, world peace, and/or human rights
7. Humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership
8. Scientific and/or technological development
9. Personal improvement and/or accomplishment
10. Medical innovation

All nominations need to be submitted, with supporting background information, by 8th May for judging, with awards presented at a ceremony during the summer, which shall be attended by local business and community leaders.
We are also looking for organisations that we can promote these awards to, so please also get in touch if you have any suggestions,.
